  1. It was high time that the VCILT gets recognised at an international level.
The Virtual Centre for Innovative Learning Technologies (VCILT) takes advantage of the possibilities offered by ICT to support innovative conceptualizations of learning facilitating the management of sustainable transformations, whether individual, social or institutional. Capitalizing on the core changes brought by ICTs in education and society, the VCILT conducts applied action research on specific new forms of learning and epistemological issues regarding how learning occurs and how knowledge emerges, beyond the borders of traditional systems of education.

As a result of its remarkable work, the Virtual Centre for Innovative Learning Technologies (VCILT) fully deserved to be rewarded by the Commonwealth of Learning. The VCILT has brought about a new dimensional way to convey learning via the use of the ICT. It has given rise to new pedagogical strategies to ensure effective learning. Furthermore, it has proved that the sharing of opinions on a specified subject has broaden each and everyone mind's horizons through diversified answers and thus has shown that combined works lead to more productive learning, more open- minded students and hence a more tolerant community for the society's welfare as a whole.

  11. By honoring VCILT for excellence in education technology, Commonwealth of Learning gives due recognition to remarkable achievements to benefit those who seek to emulate examples of good practice in this field. The COL Excellence in education technology acknowledges that excellence is being achieved at many points in the learning process: at the institutional level, in the development of learning materials and in terms of individual educator and student attainment. I am indeed very proud to be a part of University Of Mauritius as we could see the hard work being done for us to have the best education possible.
Albert Einstein said: “Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.” True to his words, a university education is what remains with us and helps us make a living. All the same, it is not just a means to earn a living but also a means to better living.

  12. Indeed wintyche.fanfan it is a great achievement for us, all students of University Of Mauritius, to have such so many educational facilities. It is scientifically proven that the learning process is much more improved and the grasp of the subject is more if the theory is applied practically. The application of the technology proves this research if the colleges adopt the technology in education. The team spirit among the students is enhanced; they develop leadership skills and team management skills. The students learn to live in such environment, the thing very basic to any type of profession later adopted by the students in their lives.
